New Online Birth Prep Course from Milli Hill

I’ve written two bestselling books on childbirth preparation and I’ve run the world renowned Positive Birth Movement, supporting pregnant women daily, for over seven years. I want to share my knowledge with you via this unique course. The April circle is now full and up and running, but a new one starts up on June 1st.

I’m also keeping up to date with my knowledge of birth under COVID-19, so that I can help inform you and support you in your birth choices. This course will now be tailored to reflect birth choices in the current pandemic.

If you want to:

  • Create a positive attitude to birth

  • Make a birth plan for every scenario (not just your ‘ideal’ birth)

  • Learn how to maximise your chances of the birth you really want

  • Get confident about life with your new baby

then the circle is the right course for you.

How it works:

For four weeks we will work together as a group (maximum 30 participants), with access to a members only facebook group.

Each week you will be sent a set of modules to work through. You will be able to discuss these modules with your community in the online group, and I will be on hand to answer any specific questions. I will also run a ‘live Q&A’ each week in the group, to consolidate that week’s learning. My full time involvement in the facebook group will stop at the end of the course, but the group will remain online so that the connections, friendship and support network between you and others in the circle will continue through your pregnancy or as long as you need it.

Because now more than ever pregnant women need good quality online support, I’m offering the full course at an incredibly low price.

I’m also offering all circle members a FREE copy of the Positive Birth Rescue Pack, at no extra cost.

Membership of the circle costs just £125.

Due to the unprecedented situation with COVID-19 I am also open to spread payments or accept donations from those who are isolated and unable to access antenatal classes.

Just get in touch.

Course Outline:

Week 1: What do I bring to birth?

This module will explore your birth expectations, exploring what you think birth might be like, and where you have got this information. The online course will give you tasks and exercises to help you reflect on your previous experiences of birth – whether they come from watching birth shows on TV or stories you have heard from friends and family. We’ll troubleshoot some of the most common fears about labour, and look at how your own feelings about your body might impact on your birth experience, too. All of these topics can be discussed in the closed facebook group as you work through the modules, and at the end of the week, we will come together for a live Q&A with Milli to consolidate our thinking.

Week 2: The Birth I Want

In the second week of the circle, we will focus our thoughts on the kind of birth you want, and why. We will look at the benefits on making a birth plan, and explore the concept of a Visual Birth Plan. By the end of this week you should have made several different birth plans for a variety of scenarios and types of birth. You will also learn the right places to look to find good evidence to support your choices, and how to stand up for yourself and what you want in your maternity care. Again, this will all be focused on via our facebook group, culminating in a live Q&A with Milli.

Week 3: Making my birth better

During week 3 you will complete modules and exercises that will help you to understand that the choices you make can have an influence on the way that your birth unfolds. We’ll look at the importance of your birth environment, and the factors that might impact on your experience of pain, as well as learning about the various options for pain relief. We’ll look at the role your partner can play in maximising your chances of a positive birth – and there will be an exercise for them to do as well! And we will learn about how you can and should have a positive birth experience in all circumstances, even if your birth plan ‘goes out the window’! Again, we’ll expand our knowledge in the facebook group and through another live Q&A with Milli.

Week 4: Looking towards the future

In our final week together we will look beyond the birth itself – yes, I know that’s hard to do! Starting with the first moments you will have with your baby, you will learn about your choices during this ‘hour of power’, and how to plan for a calm and fulfilling ‘babymoon’ – those first few days and weeks of motherhood. You will learn about the most common postnatal emotions, with a full guide of what to expect, how to spot if you need extra support and advice on where to find it. We’ll also look at some of the most common concerns of the first few week, such as sleep and bonding. And as always, you will be able to share questions and ideas in the facebook group and have one final group Q&A with Milli there.
