Care for Mum

My name is Laura and I am the founder of Care for Mum.  I had my first child in 2016 and I have been obsessed by birth and supporting parents ever since.  .  I believe that your birth experience can shape many aspects of your life therefore parents need to have the most positive birth experiences possible. My mission is to support parents before, during and after birth.  So how do I do that? Before – For me, this comes from education which is why I trained as a KG Hypnobirthing teacher.  Better, calmer, more informed births lead to less intervention and more positive birth experiences.  It is also why I chose to become a PBM facilitator. During – I am The Birth Partnership regional distributor for Northwich, facilitating birth pool hire.  I believe every mother should have access to a water birth if that’s their birth choice, not just the lucky few that manage to access the 1 or 2 birth pools their local hospital have. After – I offer an advocacy service to mothers who have experienced birth trauma.  Previously simple things like smear tests and medical appointments can be very triggering, return to work after maternity leave can be extremely difficult to contemplate, let alone navigate whilst trauma symptoms are flaring up.  I can be your eyes and ears, and if necessary your voice when your symptoms are over powering you. I have a special interest in birth trauma, and life after birth trauma.  As a mum of 1 who experienced birth trauma I know first hand, the different ways it can affect your life.
