Its particularly addressed to women that never practiced before but want to experience the joy of movement in a way that is right for them, free, relaxing and helping them to cope with most common pregnancy symptoms such as lower back and pelvic pain, muscle cramps, nausea, anxiety and overthinking.
It’s safe and indicated for any gestational age. Some poses might be adjusted during the class to fit single participants individual neeeds (i.e. knee pain, sciatica).
Moving on the music during the warm-up part creates a space to allow own freedom of movements, offering a liberating feeling that can unlock the emotions, relax and improve self-confidence but also connect with the group.
The stretches combined with the releasing gentle moves inspired by contemporary dance basic moves, offer a great work to the joints, lubricating them, stretching and toning muscles, oxygenating body tissues and organs, particularly improving placental circulation and foetal oxygenation.
The session is usually wrapped up by a final static raja yoga part consisting of breathing and mind exercises to favour relaxation, balancing emotions, introspective connection with own body and with the baby, improve self-awareness and self -perception.
